Editorial Services/Mentoring

If you need assistance organizing or writing your book and could use an experienced pair of eyes, contact me.  I understand what you’re going through.

I am an author, playwright, screenwriter, editor, and mentor.  I have taught writing courses at The University of Texas, Ohio University, Texas Southern University, and for several corporate clients.

I’ve edited, organized, and “book doctored” manuscripts for numerous clients in fields like real estate, international relations, business practices, the hospitality industry, memoirs, and even a true crime book, Someone Has to Die Tonight, which became a Dateline documentary.

My published work includes The Left Side of Paradise: The Screenwriting of John Howard Lawson, a book on one of the blacklisted “Hollywood Ten,” and two collections of short fiction, The Girl Who Founded Nebraska and Furies’ Daughters: Four Feisty Women.  My stories have appeared in numerous magazines including History Through Fiction, The Metaworker, Lightwood, and Callboard.  I’ve even written for technical publications.  Who can forget “Advances in Drilling Mud Lubricity” that appeared in an oil industry publication?

I have been co-owner of a film production company where short films I scripted won numerous national awards.  My feature screenplay, Help Stamp Out Fairplay, was produced by an indie film company.  I have been a Director of Communications for a national hotel consulting firm and worked as a publicist for various West Coast arts & entertainment groups.

I received a B.A. in English from Carleton College, M.A.in Creative Writing from Ohio University, and Ph.D. in Radio-TV-Film from The University of Texas, where I taught film studies and script writing.   I live in Gunter, Texas.

That’s my experience.  So how can I use it to help you?
